Xenadrine EFX is a relatively inexpensive and widely available fat burner, which can be
purchased at discount stores around the country. The product, which formerly contained
Ephedra, has been reformulated after Ephedra was banned by the FDA.
The stimulant replacing Ephedra is bitter orange extract (Citrus Aurantium), containing the
active ingredient Synephrine. This is the same metabolic enhancer used in the patented substance
Advantra-Z (which, according to one clinical study, helped subjects burn 500 additional calories per day).

Synephrine is chemically related to Ephedrine and is believed to have fat-burning
properties similar to Ephedrine, but with allegedly less cardiovascular risk.
- Citrus Aurantium (Bitter Orange) extract, containing the active ingredient Synephrine
- Yerba Mate (a strong CNS stimulant), standardized for caffeine
- Green Tea, which has thermogenic (fat-burning) action through the caffeine and polyphenols in its composition
- L-tyrosine and acetyl-tyrosine (aminoacids which ensure proper thyroid function for
optimal fat burning and mood enhancement)
- Phenylethylamine, a stimulant which improves mood, creating a "natural high" (same
substance as the one used in FenPhedra)
- Vitamins C and B6 (which intervene in many metabolic processes, including fat-burning
In theory, the combination used in Xenadrine EFX should be effective for inducing
weight loss, as well as providing good energy levels and improving mood. On the negative side,
Xenadrine EFX contains a tad too many stimulant agents for our taste. Therefore, it carries a higher risk
of unwelcome side effects such as anxiety, jitteriness, insomnia, excessive sweating, dizziness,
faintness, increased heart rate and blood pressure, gastrointestinal side effects (nausea, upset stomach, cramping, diarrhea), etc.
The high amount of caffeine is also
worrisome and may compound the action of the other stimulants. As such, persons with
cardiovascular disorders or cardiovascular risk factors should probably steer clear of this weight
The recommended dosage of Xenadrine is 2 tablets per day.
Xenadrine EFX is widely available in stores and online. It can be purchased online at discount prices - as low as $15 for 90 pills.
